#1. CSS Above the Fold

Faster CSS browser rendering displaying selected fragments of your theme stylesheet file directly into the head section. It Improves user experience by having your above-the-fold (top of the page) CSS styles in-page.


#2. EWWW Image Optimizer

The EWWW Image Optimizer is a WordPress plugin that will automatically optimize your images as you upload them to your blog.

It can optimize the images that you have already uploaded, convert your images automatically to the file format that will produce the smallest image size, and optionally apply lossy compression to achieve huge savings for PNG and JPG images.


#3. Imsanity

Imsanity automatically resizes huge image uploads down to a size that is more reasonable for display in the browser, yet still more than sufficient for typical website use. The plugin is configurable with a max width, height, and quality.
When a contributor uploads an image that is larger than the configured size, Insanity will automatically scale it down to the configured size and replace the original image.


#4. Merge + Minify + Refresh

This plugin merges/concatenates Cascading Style Sheets & Javascript files into groups. It then minifies the generated files using Minify (for CSS) and Google Closure (for JS – fallback to Minify when not available). Minification is done via WP-Cron so that it doesn’t slow down the website.

When JS or CSS changes files are re-processed. No need to empty cache!


#5. Use Google Libraries

Some the javascript libraries distributed with WordPress are also hosted on Google’s AJAX Libraries API. This plugin allows your WordPress site to use the content distribution network side of Google’s AJAX Library API, rather than to serve these files from your WordPress install directly.

 #2. Cloudflare ( Content Delivery Network )

CDN(Content delivery network) plays a very massive role in decreasing the website’s load time and server load. There are many CDN’s available online,

I prefer to use Cloudflare’s CDN for all of my blogs. CloudFlare is a free CDN, and the setup process is pretty simple.

It also filters the spam traffic and protects the website from DDOS Attack, SQL Injection, etc.
If you have already enabled CloudFlare on your website, Edit your settings and set the same settings as shown in the image below.

If you haven’t enabled CloudFlare for your blog yet, Don’t waste more time and enable it asap, Enabling Cloudflare is a very easy and can be done in a short period.




#3. Procedure to Decrease Web Page Size



  1. Open Editor from the appearance options of your WordPress website.
  2. Select the Stylesheet.css file from the list.
  3. Copy everything from the Stylesheet file except the theme information given in the starting of the file.
  4. Paste the copied code in CSS Source Code Input section of, and Click on  Compress.
  5. Copy the compressed code and replace the old code with the newly compressed code and Click on update file. You will see a significant decrease in the size of your website.

#4. Procedure to Compress Images-


  1. Compress your image by using or before uploading them on your website.
  2. Install Eww image compressor plugin, It will also compress the image and decrease the image size.

Pro Tip – You can also host your images on Amazon’s S3 Storage, Storing images on Amazon’s storage will reduce the overall downtime of your website and willl also reduce the load on your server.   1. Thanks for putting up a post on how I can make My WordPress blog faster. I find very helpful plugins too like the css above the fold but why not use WP Smush instead of EWWW Image Optimizer.
